KRISTINA HERMANN
I hold a master’s degree in psychology from Denmark’s Aarhus University and am trained as a couples therapist, with a specialty in the treatment of trauma. I was hired as a family therapist at the Tjele Treatment Center (Behandlingscenter Tjele in Denmark) in 2000 and later became head of the center’s family department. Over those years and up to the present, I have undergone an ongoing program of additional training.
I conduct 15 to 20 educational courses per year for relatives and dependents, working with families, children, youth, and adults. I currently have my own practice in Copenhagen, where I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and adults and continue to offer courses, training, and lectures.
My 2015 book, Du er ikke alene: en opvækst med alkoholproblemer (“You are not alone: An upbringing shaped by alcohol problems”), is now in its third edition. I also coauthored the book Du kan flyve: Lær at håndtere din flyskræk (“You can fly: Learn how to handle your fear of flying”).
I am currently at working on a new book, Raised in a Bottle: A Workbook for Adult Children of Alcoholics.
